Join us at Portal Ridge Wildlife Preserve as expert camera trappers Johanna Turner and Dan Potter publicly present their combined wildlife experiences in the field. They will share their images and knowledge of Portal Ridge and other areas in Los Angeles County. They have extensive knowledge of what happens in the San Gabriel Mountains and desert foothills when the sun goes down! They set up remote-sensing cameras throughout Portal Ridge Wildlife Preserve and capture the inner lives of the wildlife that we help save. They visit areas that are seldom ever visited by people to understand a little more about these amazing creatures, as well as inspire so many people to appreciate wildlife and work towards their conservation.
Johanna Turner has been practicing remote trail camera photography since 2009 and is a passionate wildlife advocate. She has helped several organizations as well as Transition Habitat, to raise money through donations of her award-winning images.
Dan Potter presently serves on the board of Transition Habitat Conservancy. He also enjoys camera trapping on THC land where he developed his own advanced camera setup to improve the average trail cam photos. Dan also has donated his stunning images to THC to support their annual fundraising efforts.
